Leaves are complex, pinnate, leathery, dark green above. Flowers are collected in multi-flowered panicles; light yellow, bright, often with a lemon tint. The berries are oblong-elliptic; up to 10 mm long, up to 8 mm wide, bluish-black, with a plentiful bluish coating, covered with fluff. Seeds are oblong and shiny. Flowering is in April – May. The fruits ripen in August – September.
